There are many conflicting viewpoints and attitudes within the community that can be hard to find guidance of what to do next. Autism and especially discussing it can be personal to any person and that is what creates the discord. It is why I create the Guidance Calls to help families like yourself navigate specific topics to empower their loved ones. These phone calls are conducted in a private setting where individually is respected and you will not be shut down for having specific preferences in language and such.
Topics that can be discussed in these spaces:
- Resources finding and referral
- Employment
- Community involvement and engagement
- Self-Advocacy
- Transportation pathways with buses and driving (if applicable)
- Routine building for young adults after high school
If there is a topic that may require more professional help, I will refer you over to one close to your area.
